ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will offer a rare, behind-the-scenes view when it opens some of its iconic St Lucia features as part of the city-wide Brisbane Open House on 12 October.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s new $133 million Advanced Engineering Building (AEB) and the 6 Star Green Rating Global Change Institute (GCI) will be open for guided tours and general access.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Art Museum will offer pre-booked tours and general access to the NEW 2013 exhibition featuring Australian artists.

Organ and recorder recitals by The Johnian Duo will be performed at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm in the Museum’s concert area. Tours can be booked through 3365 3046.

The Anthropology and RD Milns Antiquities Museums will also be open to the public, with joint guided tours hourly from 10.30am.

Rolling tours of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s iconic Great Court will be conducted by the University’s Student Ambassadors.

The annual Brisbane Open House is in its fourth year, and is part of Open House Worldwide, which encourages cities around the world to engage with residents and visitors by showcasing architectural diversity.

Brisbane Open House includes free access to 71 buildings across the city over the weekend of 12 and 13 October.

Queensland Government Architect Malcolm Middleton said the event continued to grow each year, thanks to strong support from community groups and businesses.

This is the first year ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s St Lucia campus has been involved in the community event. Buildings will be open from 10am to 4pm.
